What interested you in working at the New York Athletic Club?

​I saw an opening at the NYAC and was familiar with its reputation because my grandfather used to teach self-defense with the Judo Club at the City House for over 30 years.  He passed away a couple of months after I started working at the NYAC before I could really ask him questions about it.  I still have his Judo membership card, what seems to be an athletic membership card and a couple of Winged Foot magazines from 1962 and 1991 that he wrote articles in. He did this while working at the NYPD also teaching self-defense.
